About

The Chilliwack Spinners and Weavers Guild Society was founded in the fall of 1974 by Mildred Renz, with the aim of sharing knowledge and bringing together people who enjoyed the old arts of spinning and weaving. Since that time, the Guild has participated in numerous community events, held workshops, and participated in regional and national conferences.

The purpose of the Chilliwack Spinners and Weavers Guild Society is:

  1. To promote, encourage and improve the art and craft of weaving and spinning in the community.

  2. To provide an opportunity for the sharing of knowledge, skills and ideas among the members of the Guild.

  3. To keep improving work in order to achieve and maintain the highest possible standards of excellence in all work.

  4. To collect current literature and other material relative to the craft for use of members.
